Info zur Skulptur "St. Ulric with fish"

St. Ulric was born near Augsburg,was bishop of this town and finally died there on the 4 of July in 973. His attribute is the fish. It is said, that he once gave to a messenger on errands for him a piece of meat on a Friday. Catholics don't eat meat on Fridays and so the man had nothing better to do as to denounce Ulric to noble man. When he was asked to show the meat, in order to proof this unbelievalbe deed of a bishop, he only had a fish in his basket.
The special day to celebrate St. Ulric is the 4th of July.
